Supporting Islesboro Central School students in their pursuit of academic excellence at post-secondary institutions of higher learning across the United States.
The Islesboro Historical Society awards a scholarship each June to an Islesboro Central School graduating student who pursues further education at the post-secondary level. Our goal is to encourage and support superior academics in an island setting by assisting graduates in the further pursuit of their educational goals. We believe such a program will help foster a lifelong interest in that special place called “Islesboro.”
Note: Students must provide a completed application, three letters of recommendation, essay/personal statement and grade transcript. The Historical Society also awards continuing scholarships for each year of a two-four year post-secondary program. All scholarships are in the amount of $1,000. The program must be re-authorized by the IHS Board of Directors each year.
